The Corrales School of Art is planning a weekend of art activities related to horses the first weekend of October. Proceeds will be donated to horse rescue groups, both wild and domestic.

Artists are invited to submit work for an art opening Friday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Corrales School of Art. Half of all sales will go toward horse rescue groups, with the rest going to artists. Contact the school for more information.

The public is invited to register for any of four workshops that weekend, Oct. 1-2, that will cover various aspects of horse art. Morning and afternoon sessions of two hours each will include demonstrations and basic instruction on painting and drawing horses with oils (Debi Wilcox) and pastels ( Jon Young). The cost is $30 per workshop. Call the Corrales School of Art for an updated schedule and to register: www.corrales-school-of-art.com or 401-4220.
