Artist's statement Art purists who demand an experience of the genuine are just asking for disillusionment in an era when signs of all kinds have come to stand only for themselves. As communication increasingly means exhorting others to believe, worship, or buy in, what distinguishes the artist is not her materials, methods, or even her message -- but the desire simultaneously to plant a small seed of doubt. |
